“We need to stop giving people excuses not to believe in God. You’ve probably heard the expression ‘I believe in God, just not organized religion’. I don’t think people would say that if the church truly lived like we are called to live.” ― Francis Chan, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God

“God perfects the call, He doesn’t call the perfect” (Pastor Benjamin, Youth Pastor, The Zone Ministry, New Creation Church)
“God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.”
(1 Corinthians 1:28, NLT)
God uses us where we are, with what we have. But He doesn’t leave us there, no! He takes the little that we have, our 5 loaves and 2 fish, and he gives us 12 basket fulls leftover! So don’t despise the days of small beginnings, your imperfections, and what you have in your hand. Whatever you place in HIS hand, will surely multiply and overflow!
Lyrics from Man of Sorrows (Hillsong), 2012 Easter single. Such a beautiful, beautiful anthem of the finished work of the cross and what it has bought FOR us. Not what we have done for Him, but what we receive by grace because of what His love on the cross has GIVEN us!
I’m saved by grace. Redeemed by the finished work on the cross. An original drawing.
Just had a great Easter weekend remembering the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and just being completely grateful for all He has done for me, and all that He is to me. :)
This line has stuck with me since finishing Andy Stanley’s book, ‘Visioneering’. It speaks of how when Nehemiah was commissioned by the Lord to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, he did not make time for his detractors who wanted to distract him from completing the work by asking him to come down. In life, there are many good opportunities that will come and doors that will open because of the favor of the Lord. But what has He called you to do? If your life is filled with many good things, are they are distracting you from the great that God has called you to?
